    Pun ative Damages

I couldn’t get all my legal papers to fit in my attaché so I had a leather tailor pleat my case.

    Where have I been?

Well, all of my spare time that I usually spend filling this site with goofy pics and text, I have been spending putting silly pictures and text in a t-shirt contest elsewhere. I haven't won yet(or even gotten close), but I have had fun so far. If you are not familiar with www.woot.com already, they have a special sales schema. They sell electronics at a lower price than you can get elsewhere, always for $5 shipping, always changing the item at midnight, their time every day, (10 pm Pacific). They recently added Shirt.woot.com to their site They have a new t-shirt for sale for ten dollars at midnight their time every day, (10 pm Pacific). They are all over the board in style. They keep them work safe for the most part, and I have never gone a week where there isn't at least one shirt I would buy. Thursday through Saturday is special because that is when they sell the top three winners of what they call 'The Derby'. You need to have an account and have purchased one item in order to vote, but just an account in order to enter. Here are my entries so far.

    Derby 'One'
The first week the theme was 'One' in hindsight the text should have read "Wan Juan won one wanton, one ton wan-ton!", not that it would have placed higher, just would have read smoother.

    Derby 'Heat'
The theme was heat, and anything heat related.
My entry was titled "Tonite we dine in Hell", a line from the movie 300.

I was just learning about submitting pictures at the right resolution. This idea got one vote.

    Derby 'Super Hero'
    Nothing! Can you believe that...

    Derby 'Maps'
The fourth derby was maps. I thought it would be funny if a menu had a map to a poison control center on the front of it.

This was my first taste of inkscape, a freeware vector graphic program, love it(it crashes sometimes though). 7 votes for this one.

    Derby 'Light'
Devin and me brainstormed on this.It had to be on a blue, red or green shirt.
The concept was a prism with the colors each having the hex codes for the colors.

It was the least favorite of my designs, and got the most votes 37 at end.

Derby 'fake me out to the ballgame'
This one did not do very well at all, 11 votes I think. The theme was to come up with a non-existent sports team.

    Derby 'visually sound'
This one was all about sound. I submitted several designs. From this point on a website, Shirt Derby Stats keeps an archive of the scores so I am not guessing them any more.

One of my favorite drawings,"I take my music seriously". 20 votes. Too many keytar entries in the contest.

This one was entitled "Not one Peep out of you" It was entered late, got 11 votes.

This one was in the top 3 all weekend until it was rejected for using a copyrighted image. "Dante's Circle of Fifths"

Derby 'Blank is the new Pirate'
This derby you were supposed to replace the ever popular pirate historical archetype with a new one.

"Jesus is my Co-pirate" 37 votes. Just to give you a yardstick, the winner had 470 votes.
    Derby 'Summer into Fall'
We sere supposed to show a transition from one season to another.

I tried to show through color, animal and age the 'Season of Life' Not exactly my most successful week. 8 votes.

    Derby 'City Without Words'
The theme this derby was to create an image of city related and no use of words in the design.

'Complex Dreams' racked me 42 votes.

    'City Strikes back' 25 votes.

I will post the rest later. I want to get these out for you guys and gals to peep. I might clean up some of my losing designs and submit them to another t-shirt contest at THREADLESS. Heck I might even make some myself. Fun times!
